Terms of use

These terms govern the use of https://mangadialog.fr, the Manga Dialog browser extension and the related translation service (the "Service"), published by XTRION (the "Publisher"). Creating an account or using the Service means accepting these terms, the terms of sale and the privacy policy. The French version prevails.

The Service is reserved for people aged 18 or over. By creating an account, the user certifies being an adult. This requirement is also imposed by the terms of the AI technology provider. Accounts opened by minors or with false information may be suspended immediately.

The Service detects text in images (speech bubbles, captions) and displays an automatic translation generated by artificial intelligence systems, without human review, in line with Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act). Translated images are flagged as such.

Essential characteristics accepted by the user: machine translation may contain errors, omissions, mistranslations or undetected bubbles; layout is approximate. These limits are part of the description of the Service and are not a lack of conformity.

The Service works on pages the user views. Some websites technically prevent access to their images; the Publisher never circumvents technical protection measures and does not guarantee compatibility with any given website.

Accounts are strictly personal. An account can be signed in on at most 2 devices at a time; older sessions are closed automatically. Sharing, lending, reselling or renting an account or credits, and creating multiple accounts to get around limits, are prohibited.

Automated use (bots, scripts, bulk requests); circumventing quotas, credits, rate limits, payment or security; reverse engineering or extracting code, models or outputs beyond what the law allows; building a competing service or training an AI model; publishing, reselling or commercially exploiting translations; processing unlawful images; payment fraud, including unjustified chargebacks.

Works belong to their authors and publishers. The Publisher does not host, durably store or distribute them; images are processed transiently and a result may be kept briefly in a technical memory cache only to avoid duplicate processing.

The Service is a technical reading tool for strictly private use. The user is solely responsible for the content they choose to translate and must not make translations available to the public. On notice from a rights holder, the Publisher blocks the Service for the reported source website.

The Publisher uses reasonable means to provide the Service (best-efforts obligation). The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, security, provider outages or force majeure, and may be rate-limited or paused to control costs; no credits are used during a pause. Features and translation engines may change.

In case of breach, fraud, abuse or security risk, the Publisher may warn, limit, suspend or terminate the account. Upon termination for serious breach (account sharing, fraud, circumvention, prohibited use, abusive chargeback), unused credits are forfeited to the extent permitted by law.

The user is responsible for their use of the Service and of translations, and indemnifies the Publisher against third-party claims arising from their own breach. The Publisher is not liable for the content of visited websites, decisions based on a translation, or indirect damage. Nothing limits liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or mandatory consumer rights.

Users are notified at least 30 days before an unfavourable change and may terminate free of charge before it applies.

French law applies, without depriving consumers of the mandatory protection of their country of residence. Complaints are handled through the online support service (My account › Support: https://mangadialog.fr/dashboard/tickets?new=1) or at xtriontechnologie@gmail.com, with a reply within 5 business days.
